What is a PROBUS Club ?
A Probus club is an association of retired persons who worked in business or in the professions and would like to take part in interesting activities in their retirement.
The aim of the Club is to gather together like-minded people in friendly meetings without sectarian or political controversy.
The Club should exist with the minimum of formal organisation and financial management.
The first Probus Club was created in 1966 by Harold Blanchard, Past-President of the Chaterham Rotary Club (Great Britain).
In France, the first Probus Club was created in Le Touquet in 1991 by Vincent Campion..
On the first of January 2011, there were, in France, 755 members in 36 Clubs.
World-wide, there are more than 4,700 Probus Clubs with 350,000 members.
